What to expect at a SweetPea Grow & Play session

Sweetpea Grow & Play is set in a secluded acre of grassy field in the beautiful Essex countryside. We have free parking onsite, just drive through the gate and find a spot. Once onsite, you will be surrounded by gorgeous views of neighbouring fields, with plenty of wildflowers and hedgerows to explore

Children of all ages are given lots of opportunities to practice growing delicious fruit and veg. They can freely explore our poly-tunnel, veg patch and raised beds and get their hands dirty planting out seedlings and managing the garden. We have helpers on hand to guide little ones through activities, so even the smallest of gardeners can get involved!

We have plenty of activities for children to blow off steam. Explore our much-loved dig pit, where kids can fill up wheelbarrows with child-sized spades or move woodchips with our big yellow digger

Immerse yourself in nature with our foraging activities, where we learn about seasonal wildflowers and vegetables. Observe how our gardens grow over time, and enjoy our harvests, learning about life-cycles and seasons the hands-on way!

Relax and unwind in our 6m cozy tent, -perfect for little babies to cool off on a hot summer's day- 

or enjoy our picnic area with stunning views across the gardens

You will also find toilets, changing facilities, first aid and a handwashing station. Your comfort and safety is our priority!

We welcome volunteers from across the community to give talks and answer your questions. Get help and advice to improve your garden, and meet other families. Ideal for home education groups, school visits and fostering programs, we offer private sessions, or come along to a morning group!
